Santa Barbara, CA
3,000 s.f. Restaurant Renovation
Completed 2009

The interior design for Silvergreens incorporates the cost effective notions of fresh, open, smart and transparent design as a representation of the client’s product. The new location within a mixed-use commercial building, embraces the high ceilings, large storefront windows and various floor levels to create a dynamic new interior. Dropped ceiling panels of varying heights accommodate and conceal lighting and mechanical systems above. Soft organic wall and ceiling shapes and materials play against the rectilinear building shell geometries to create a dynamic interior with a strong sense of arrival at the front entry. The interior was designed to utilize clean, simple, modern materials and to be built quickly at minimal cost. The new facility is the first CERTIFIED GREEN RESTAURANT in Santa Barbara and also has achieved a 3-STAR BuiltGREEN rating for its energy efficient and environmental design and won Green Commercial Project of the Year 2010. The project was designed in collaboration with ABDS.
